Should I worry if “Windows cannot copy properties” of a file?

The short answer: no. Please ignore this. The files will copy and move correctly. Most importantly, they will stitch correctly, so there is no need to worry.

The longer and more geeky answer: no. Some versions of Windows display this because we use some Apple computers here at Amelie Scott Designs.

Windows and MacOS handle files differently. When you save a file on a Windows computer, there is just that file. On an Apple computer, however, when you save a file, the computer saves 2 things: the file itself, and a Properties file that saves information that MacOS uses. The Properties files are invisible to users, but, the computers see them.

When a file from an Apple computer is copied to a Windows computer, the Properties file goes with the file. When you try to move or copy the file in Windows, the Windows computer doesn’t want to move the Properties file, because Windows doesn’t need it. The computer will, however, issue an alert that it plans to leave the Properties file behind. That’s the message that you see, and that’s why it doesn’t matter.

I’ve tried several times to clear the Properties files from our distribution files. I think that most of our products are free of Properties files, but, I could be wrong. Again, they don’t hurt anything, and it’s OK to move files without them.

Sorry about the confusion. I hope this helps.
